Tribute to Zeca Afonso 23/03/2012

Last Friday Quinta dos Vales hosted the concert “Tribute to Zeca Afonso” played to a an intimate warming audience of around 25 people. This homage concert had the participation of group “Mar de Fora” (Luís Almeida, Sérgio Quaresma, Helder Encarnação and Luís Nunes) with guest singer Oriana Dias and Pedro Frias, responsible for putting this great show together, with the much appreciated assistence of João Reis in the sound control. Next April 13th Miguel Drago and Pedro Frias will return to Quinta dos Vales with the show “Fantasia Lusitana”, more information soon.

Today in Quinta dos Vales: "Tribute to Zeca Afonso"

On March 23rd, Zeca Afonso will be remembered in Quinta dos Vales. Considered by many 'a man with a vision far ahead' whose message is still current, the poet will receive a tribute by several Algarve musicians deeply experienced and absorbed in his style: 'Grupo Mar de Fora' will be accompanied by guest singer Oriana Dias. Zeca Afonso's remarkable songs are given new strength by its lyrics wherein political messages are disguised in poetry: 'Eles comem tudo e não deixam nada' or 'A morte saiu à rua num dia assim'. He spoke not only of revolution , his lyrics were also imbued with affection and solidarity, this is why we will remember Zeca's most romantic songs, like 'O meu benzinho', in a magical cultural evening.
Quinta dos Vales continues its the cultural sessions, always encouraging and promoting Portuguese culture in a wine venue of excellence. These are enough reasons for you not to miss this tribute concert to the great Zeca Afonso.

Sunday's event was another great success for Quinta dos Vales. Around
1300 visitors, adults and children, who decided to come for a lovely
March afternoon in Quinta dos Vales, enjoying the shows as well as the
wine tastings.

Marquês dos Vales Espumante was elected best match against lamprey at
the latest Harmonias ComProvadas tasting in Restaurant "Papa Açorda" in
Bairro Alto, Lisbon.

New Wines Labeling

We had for 3 days last week the labeling of some of Quinta dos Vales' wines, labeling most of the white and rosés which will be released this weekend during the "Open Door 6". Soon we will relase further information.

Prowein 2012 Starts March 04

Europe's biggest international trade fair for wine and spirits starts tomorrow in Dusseldorf, Germany, and lasts until March 6th. Quinta dos Vales is in attendance and can be visited at stall 42 in Halle 6/40 at Messe Dusseldorf. We look forward to meeting you there!

Meet Art & Artist @ Benamor Golf - Ivan Ulmann

Alongside Quinta dos Vales' ongoing exhibition Benamor Golf has launched
a new initiative "Meet Art & Artist @ Benamor Golf", over the course of
the year several guest artists will be invited to exhibit their works in
Tavira's golf course for a month.
Quinta dos Vales was happy to recommend the artists who have
participated in its art projects, Ivan Ulmann was selected for March by
the Benamor team. Meet and greet will be on March 9th the club's
restaurant, starting at 6pm.
